In May 2019, at the age of 28, our mate Ben Raemers took his own life. Ben was a close personal friend to most of us at The National Skateboard Co., so when The Ben Raemers Foundation was established in the wake of his passing, we knew we wanted to do something to help.
Run by a collection of Ben’s family and friends, The Ben Raemers Foundation is striving to bring mental health issues and suicide awareness to the forefront of the wider skateboarding community. In the short time since its inauguration, the Foundation has hosted training seminars and groundbreaking events that have done just that.
This special ‘Maaate’ capsule has been created with the blessings of the Foundation. All of the profits raised are being donated straight to the charity, enabling them to continue their essential and forward-thinking work.
Limited edition boards and short sleeve shirts are available in skate stores nationwide from today, with very small numbers being made available on thenationalskateboardco.com soon.
